Dr Phil Dundee BSc., MBBS, FRACS

Dr Dundee is a urologist with specialist expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery.

After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2000, he then completed his general urology training in Melbourne. He undertook fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery at The Royal Surrey County Hospital, followed by a year of robotic surgical training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.

Since returning to Melbourne at the end of 2012, Phil established the first robotic cystectomy surgery program in Melbourne and leads the Robotic Surgery Fellowship program at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has been an invited speaker and faculty member at national and international robotic surgery workshops and received the Peter J Dohrmann medal from the Epworth hospital in 2018 for research in robotic surgery.

In addition to being a member of the IMRA faculty and a content creator, he also has a University of Melbourne appointment as Honorary Clinical Lecturer.

      Dr Briony Norris, MBBS, FRACS

Dr Briony Norris is a urological surgeon at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Eastern Health, Ballarat Health Services and the Australian Prostate Centre.

After completing her medical training through the University of Melbourne in 2006, she pursued a career in urology and attained her FRACS (Urol) through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. Briony developed a keen interest in robotic surgery and furthered her training with an international clinical fellowship in Robotic surgery and Endourology at the New York University Langone Medical Centre (New York).

Briony is a Faculty member at the International Medical Robotics Academy. She has presented at local and international conferences and has been published in many peer- reviewed journals. She specialises in robotic and minimally invasive surgery with a focus on renal and upper tract pathology.

Briony has a keen interest in the education of medical students and trainees and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Department of Surgery.

Dr Owen Niall MBBS, RACS, Dip. Anat

Dr Owen Niall is a Urological surgeon with a particular interest in the sub-specialty of minimally invasive surgery particularly Robotic-assisted surgery. He graduated from Monash University with an Honours degree in 1988. He was awarded his FRACS in Urology in 1999. He was awarded a Diploma of Anatomy, and subsequently taught Anatomy at Stanford University in the United States.

Dr Niall then undertook further Urology training in the UK, France and Germany from 2000 to 2001 with a Laparoscopic Fellowship at the renowned Montsouris Hospital in Paris, which was instrumental in developing laparoscopic prostatectomy. Since his return to Australia in 2002, he has been a Consultant Urologist at St Vincent’s and Northern Hospitals and he is now Head of Urology at Northern Health.
