This course will introduce you to the theory and principles of robotic surgery in preparation for safe robotic surgical practice. You will be instructed by our faculty of expert robotic surgeons as well as world class aviation and medical simulation educators.
All doctors who are commencing robotic surgery practice including surgeons, trainees, surgical assistants and residents. This course will also deliver a bedside assisting module.
- Understand the system features of surgical robots
- Know the steps for safe robot setup
- Certification for Robotic Assisting
- Know the principles of good robotic surgical technique at the console and the bedside
- Introduction to robot simulation
- Learn how to get robotically trained
- Learn about current robotic Urological procedures
This course includes material on robot technology, safety, robot setup and fundamental operating skills, pathways to competency. Lectures on Robotic experience, Components of Surgical Robots, Buttonology and Instrumentation, Docking and undocking, Instrument exchange and visualisation, Efficient use of vascular ligation devices (Hem-O-Loks, Ligaclips etc).
